Is it really zen? Hmmm. This kind of ruminating is just part of a process that is for me as unavoidable as digestion. So I think it is neither zen or not-zen.
But, as Pat Hawk Roshi said in the very first Teisho I ever heard, "You do not work for your brain, your brain works for you." In that spirit, I have accepted the time debt of diarying (now on the computer) and have found a good time to do it (trading it for some less useful time spending).
This is zen: When you meditate, meditate; when you blog, blog.
This is not zen: Multitasking while blogging.
Why on earth would you spend time talking to yourself, and then not even listen!
