Learned this on Sunday from the Book of Common Prayer- a Complines (end of the day) prayer. Ever more appreciative of such practice:
"Be present, Oh merciful God, and protect us through the hours of this night so that we who are wearied by the changes and chances of this life may rest in your eternal changelessness, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. "
I add: We pray in Jesus' name because our house believes upon Jesus, but this beautiful prayer could be made in the name of any manifestation of the One.
